Cancun

After Tim finished finals, we spent the week in Cancun with our friends Ryan and Erica. We had an amazing time. The weather was beautiful and we got to relax for a week, which was a much needed break - especially for Tim. Oh, and I can't forget to mention all the Mexican food we ate. Mmmmm. I love guacamole.

One day we took a ferry to Isla Mujeres, rented scooters, and drove around the island for a few hours. This was one of the best days of the trip.

JUNGLE TOURS? We got asked at least 10 times per day if we wanted to go on a 'Jungle Tour' by the Mexican workers. When one of the booths was empty, Tim quickly jumped in to offer us yet another Jungle Tour.

Okay, so we might have chosen to go on the Jungle Tour. It turned out to be a lot of fun. The two of us got our own little speed boat and drove through a Mexican jungle, which turned out to be some random bushes growing in the ocean. We did get to stop and snorkel at the coral reef. The water was warm and we got to see a lot of fish. I would definitely recommend the Jungle Tour to anyone spending some time in Cancun.

Because Ryan speaks Spanish, we jumped on the public bus and got to see quite a bit of Cancun. We decided to eat at a Mexican restaurant that was supposed to have the most authentic Mexican food around. We were on the bus for quite a while and we had no idea where we were going to end up. We got off the bus in downtown Cancun and the locals gave us directions to the restaurant which led us through several back alleys. We finally found the restaurant and it was worth the journey! Did I mention that I love guacamole?

The water in Cancun is the most amazing blue. I don't know if I have even seen ocean water this color.

I'm so jealous! I want / need a vacation desperately. Looks like we won't be coming to visit and staying at your place huh? Little too small for my clan! What a fun place to be this summer though! Take advantage and enjoy! Hopefully we'll see you soon!

Fun Katie-- You are so beautiful!

Your place looks great! Fun to be that close to the beach. I am that close to Utah Lake, sometimes I pretend its the ocean :)
